canine and feline deciduous pemphigoid (medicine)

Canine and feline deciduous pemphigoid is different from the usual skin diseases caused by parasitic infection or fungal infection, deciduous pemphigoid is caused by autoimmune deficiency. Sick dogs and cats develop blisters on the skin and mucous membranes, feel itchy, and develop redness, scabs, and hair loss after rubbing, requiring prompt treatment to avoid systemic infection.

Clinical signs of deciduous aspergillosis in dogs and cats

The main difference between canine and feline deciduous pemphigoid and common pemphigoid is the mildness of the symptoms and the paucity of lesions at the mucocutaneous-skin junction. It occurs in cats in addition to dogs. The incidence of the disease in dogs does not differ between breeds, exceptions and sexes. Blisters form suddenly at the skin and mucous membranes, break down in a short time to form scabs, and later take a chronic course.

Canine and feline deciduous pemphigoid lesions mostly occur on the face, especially around the nose, eyes and ears, and when the scope of the lesion expands, it is seen around the fingers (toes), the groin, and even spreads to the whole body. The lesions are blistering, ulcerative and pustular, with hair loss, redness, oozing, and the formation of a wide range of scabs on the affected areas. The disease has no systemic symptoms and is rarely associated with bacterial infection, but exhibits varying degrees of pruritus.
